Showing the correlation between bipolar disorder and creativity for my senior thesis, I selected Vincent van Gogh as my model. I utilized letters that Van Gogh wrote to his brother to discect 9 paintings and categorize them into either mania or depression. This was to construct a sample exhibition at the official Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.
The typography was designed to illustrate the up and down moods of bipolar. Mania and depression occur in cycles, but are often unpredictable.
